Set in a growing technology campus development, this new 55,000 sq. ft. corporate headquarters was designed for a growing construction company. From the beginning, the owner expressed the desire to be a leader in sustainability and to achieve a LEED Silver certification in the USGBC’s LEED rating system. However, so many new sustainable strategies were implemented that the building has exceeded the original level and has achieved LEED Gold certification status. This is the first LEED Gold certified building in Dane County and only one of four in Wisconsin. The building features include a roof top patio with a view of a vegetated roof, a fitness center and childcare center.
Sustainable features include: • Pervious concrete to reduce storm water runoff • High-efficiency landscape irrigation • Ultra-low flow plumbing fixtures & waterless urinals • Rapidly renewable materials such as bamboo & cork flooring, & cotton batt insulation • Low VOC emitting materials • Exceptional day lighting and views to the exterior • 75%+ construction waste recycling program • Commitment to purchase power generated from renewable sources |
