Plunkett Raysich Architects designed a new 73,600 square foot Heart Institute addition to Aspirus Wausau Hospital. The space that was to be utilized for the addition was the old loading dock and dumpster area. The designers met this challenge, turning the area into a well-lit atrium entry for Ambulatory Surgery and Heart Care. Expanded services include eye surgery, prep and post-operatory care, and invasive and non-invasive cardiology services. Special attention was given to efficient traffic flow, patient convenience and staff efficiency while creating a new image for the hospital.
