Columbia St. Mary's Milwaukee Campus Replacement Hospital

Location:
Milwaukee, WI
Size:
670,000 sq. ft.
Completion Date:
November 2011
Client:
Columbia St. Mary's Hospital

Plunkett Raysich Architects was retained to be part of the team of architects to develop a $400+ million replacement campus for Columbia St. Mary’s Hospital. This project included a 670,000 sq. ft. new 513-bed replacement hospital, the new Prospect Medical Commons which includes retail, and the 330,000 sq. ft. Ozaukee Campus Expansion. An integral part of the expansion included the improvement of Columbia St. Mary’s NICU capabilities and the NICU experience.  The renovation of 12,000 sq. ft. allowed the Hospital to double their NICU space and increase capacity from an 18-bed open bay design to a private room model with 21 single rooms and 2 rooms for multiple birth families.

Other projects for which the team is responsible include the adaptive reuse of the old Glendale Heart Hospital into the new River Woods Outpatient Care Center as well as all the demolition, temporary relocation of services, and the consolidation of services once the new replacement hospital is completed.
