| This new 150-unit skilled nursing facility, situated on a 14-acre site, replaced the existing Manitowoc Health Care Center. The new facility utilizes a neighborhood concept. Three ‘households’ consisting of two wings each are designed into neighborhoods. These are all located around a central core area. The facility is specifically designed for dementia residents, medical care residents, chronic mentally ill, as well as developmentally disabled residents. With the central core area resembling “downtown-like” storefronts leading to a town square, residents will feel as though they are strolling through the center of Manitowoc. |
