General Mitchell International Airport Concourse D Security

Location:
Milwaukee, WI
Size:
19,784 sq. ft.
Completion Date:
October 2006
Client:
General Mitchell International Airport / Milwaukee County

As part of the overall Concourse D renovation and for the primary carrier, Midwest Airlines, General Mitchell International Airport (GMIA) provided a complete renovation and expansion of the security checkpoint to meet stronger TSA design guidelines.  Renovations include increasing the building size to accommodate six checkpoint lanes - an increase from the original two, a complete redesign of the building interiors, finishes selected to coordinate with Midwest Airlines’ corporate colors and dedicated outbound and inbound passenger circulation space.  The expansion and renovation substantially increases passenger screening capacity thereby allowing Frontier Airlines (formerly Midwest Airlines) to operate at peak efficiency.
