PRA was recognized for outstanding work on two projects at the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) Wisconsin 39th Annual Design Excellence Awards on Thursday, March 12.
The interior design of The Cottages at Cedar Run, a memory care facility in West Bend, WI, was awarded a Bronze Award in the Senior Living category. The building’s design incorporated various concepts, featuring unique, cottage-style resident room exteriors to aid way-finding. Each design consideration was intended to work with the others to create a facility that minimizes potential stressors for residents, while also providing a comfortable environment for residents and staff to live and work within.
Another PRA project, the Beloit Health System UW Cancer Center, was awarded the Gold Award in Healthcare/Medical, one of only five Gold Awards presented this year. This patient-centered design was the result of a process that based decisions on feedback from patients. From this visioning process, the center’s design was molded to reduce footsteps, provide patients with options, and maintain a constant connection to nature. The result is patient-centered design that combines high-tech capability with high-touch comforts.
