OUR PEOPLE

Patrick J. Griffin

AIA NCARB | Healthcare

Patrick joined the PRA Healthcare Studio in 1994 and now has more than 25 years of experience in healthcare design. At age 12, he knew he wanted to be an architect upon watching his older sister build intricate wood models for her college courses. He eventually took classes in high school to strengthen his design, drawing, and drafting skills that would later become essential for his career as an architect.

When Patrick takes on a project, he is often involved from the development of design concepts to project closeout and occupancy. He finds it rewarding to participate in every aspect of a project, especially when it comes to construction administration where split decisions need to be made to keep the project on schedule. Patrick specializes in healthcare projects because he thoroughly enjoys the complexity and challenge that comes with designing or renovating a healthcare facility. He understands the needs of the caregivers is critical, but also the need to provide spaces that feel safe and comfortable for patients and their families in a time they may need it most. His caring nature extends to his community involvement with Variety – The Children’s Charity of Wisconsin, where he has been a volunteer since 2001 and served as a Director from 2009 to 2015.
