OUR PEOPLE

Andrew Bell

AIA |

Andrew attended Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa where he grew up. Assisting with the construction of a dozen Habitat for Humanity homes in the Cedar Valley was a catalyst for an interest in the building industry. After receiving a degree in history, he continued his studies at Iowa State where he completed the Masters in Architecture program in 2011. He became licensed in 2016.

His experiences as an intern with the State Historic Preservation Office and Benjamin Design Collaborative brought him to AHTS Architects late in 2012. He particularly enjoys working on historic renovations and delving into code books. Andrew is a board member of the Waverly Chamber & Main Street as well as the Waverly Rotary Club.

Andrew lives in Waverly with his wife Ellen, a veterinarian in Cedar Falls. Their three children Lucy, Walter, and Violet keep them busy at home. Much of their free time is spent baking or in the woods building forts, managing trees, or making maple syrup.
