Derek’s career in architecture began at an early age, with formative experiences that sparked his interest in the field and set the stage for his professional development. Today, Derek serves as an Associate and Project Manager at PRA in Sarasota, Florida, where he specializes in healthcare and related facility projects. Derek works closely with clients, guiding projects from management through production, and he is sought for his practical approach and commitment to delivering effective solutions that meet client goals.

His experience spans a variety of building types, including multi-family residential, religious, healthcare, and dental offices. Derek values clear communication, face-to-face collaboration, and ensuring that each project aligns with client needs and expectations. He utilizes design tools, such as virtual walkthroughs, to support decision-making and keep internal and consultant teams aligned with project objectives.

Outside of work, Derek enjoys spending quality time with his wife Rebecca, young daughter Emerson, and Chocolate Lab Gator, balancing his professional responsibilities with a fulfilling home life. He is also an avid runner and has proudly completed an ultra-marathon, reflecting his dedication and passion both in his personal pursuits and professional career.
