OUR PEOPLE

Emily Grahn

AIA | Education

From a young age, Emily’s had a persistent drive to design and create.  When she decided on Architecture, it felt like a natural fit.  After school, Emily took some time to volunteer with AmeriCorps working with a Habitat for Humanity affiliate in Delaware.  Through this experience, she was able to step out from behind a computer and learn how to implement what she studied in school.  Not only was this key in her development by linking the design to reality but it was a great way for her to see the impact of a building on the end user.

When Emily joined PRA’s Milwaukee office in 2017, she started as Project Specialist. In this role she was able to learn and grow through getting into the weeds of a project and doing the day-to-day drafting and coordinating. In this process, she also worked closely with the firms Senior Designers and aided in implementing their designs into the project. This is where she found her passion and through time and experience has grown into the position of Project Designer. In this role, Emily takes pride in creating beautiful spaces that not only fulfill the client’s needs, but hopefully exceeds their expectations! Taking a wholistic approach with her deigns, she values collaboration with PRA’s Interior Designers to ensure the vision is cohesive from outside to in. At the end of the day, seeing clients thrive and students flourish in their new spaces drives Emily’s work and confirms why she loves this profession.

When Emily needs to recharge, she loves to escape for a hike or a weekend out of the city with her family. She also loves to bring her passions home and always seems to have a project or design endeavor going on around.
