Mary K. Spriggs
AIA CSI CDT | HealthcareMary grew up creating structures out of anything she could get her hands on. At the age of six, she was developing an Italian Villa out of sticks on her front porch one sunny afternoon, when she heard “architect” for the first time. Unsure of what it meant, she thought it was a disgusting word, but after an explanation, her face lit up realizing she found her calling.
She found her way to PRA in 1997, where she is now a Senior Project Architect, Associate, and Project Manager in the Healthcare Studio. She is involved in the entire project process from planning and schematic design through construction, but she feels that establishing a long-term relationship with the client is the most gratifying. Mary’s goal at the end of every project is for her client to feel heard, get excited about new possibilities, and obtain a vision they couldn’t previously imagine.
Since joining PRA, Mary quickly developed a passion for healthcare design, especially Newborn Intensive Care Units. She cherishes the opportunity to apply the latest research to create an environment that helps premature or sick newborns live a full and healthy life. Mary’s passions don’t solely lie in healthcare, but she is a champion philanthropist. She is a member of several running organizations that give back to the community with each stride she takes. Additionally, she spearheads the Mentorship Program at PRA, where she strives to help new employees find solid footing in the professional world.
