James “Jim” Plunkett Served Clients For Over 50 Years

MILWAUKEE, WI – Plunkett Raysich Architects, LLP, one of Wisconsin’s leading architecture and interior design firms, is remembering the life and legacy of Jim Plunkett, the firm’s retired named partner. Jim passed away surrounded by family at his home in River Hills last Thursday. He was 81 years old.

Jim joined the firm in 1958, two years after graduating from Cornell University with a degree in architecture. His father, Henry Plunkett, founded the firm in 1935. Jim was named president in 1971 and soon established marketing and interior design departments, expanding the firm’s capabilities and expertise.

He chose to forgo full-time retirement and instead provided architectural consulting services for numerous projects. Jim remained wholeheartedly committed to the firm’s success and its employees, regularly visiting the Milwaukee office to chat with friends and colleagues. His heartwarming spirit and generous personality will be deeply missed.

Some of Jim’s clients included the Riveredge Nature Center, the Cedarburg Police Department and Mortara Instruments.

“Jim was a great teacher, a great mentor, a great giver and a great partner and friend.”
