PRA joins U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs in Celebrating the Grand Opening of Homes

Plunkett Raysich Architects, LLP (PRA), will join the USDVA later this week in celebrating the grand opening of two new Green House® Homes at the Tomah VA Medical Center in Tomah, Wis. PRA designed the homes to meet standards established by The Green House® Project, a USDVA-led initiative to transform the culture of long-term care.

The Green House® model aims to foster a warmer, more home-like feel for residents. Each of the two 8,560 sq. ft. homes combine private resident rooms and bathrooms with open common spaces, allowing residents to choose between a secluded or social setting.

“The Green House® model truly gives residents the best of both worlds — they’re able to exercise privacy in the comfort of their own room or venture to the common areas and socialize. It was an honor to work with the USDVA on this innovative project.”

The grand opening ceremony for the Green House® Homes is scheduled for this Wednesday, August 13. The facility will begin welcoming residents soon thereafter. For more information, please visit www.tomah.va.gov.
